Nurturing Your Growth

At the League Against Cruel Sports, we foster an environment where everyone has the opportunity to contribute meaningfully, take ownership of their work and continue to grow personally and professionally.  We're proud to support people to build fulfilling careers - whether that means growing with us or eventually taking the next step elsewhere. Our commitment to learning is underscored by the understanding that investing in our people benefits their long-term careers and will enable us to deliver better outcomes for animals.

  • We have a structured onboarding process to welcome you to our League family. New joiners receive fundamental internal training during their induction, complemented by annual refreshers in key areas such as health and safety and information security.

  • We are passionate about investing in our people’s futures. Each year, we have a dedicated learning and development budget, affirming our commitment to ongoing development.

  • We believe learning is part of everyday work, not just something that happens on a training course. That's why we encourage knowledge sharing, collaboration and a growth mindset across the organisation. Alongside external training, we offer a range of tailored internal learning opportunities, including regular League Learning sessions, mentoring, coaching and opportunities to learn from colleagues across different teams.

  • Every team member agrees objectives with their manager that reflect their role, our organisational strategy and their own professional development. Along the way we celebrate achievements, reflect on learnings and encourage people to broaden experience through stretch projects, innovation, secondments and paid volunteering opportunities.

  • Our performance review has a dedicated section called ‘Moving Forwards’ that focuses on training and development, fostering continuous improvement. We also offer ‘career conversations’ with your manager and the People Team to discuss your long-term career aspirations and help you to identify a development plan and pathway to get there.

  • We are committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment, making training and development opportunities accessible to all staff, ensuring fair distribution across teams so that everyone has the opportunity to meet their full potential.
